Peter Casebow

Chief Executive

Peter Casebow

A bit about me: I'm CEO of GoodPractice and used to be Head of Communication Strategy at RBS.

The best thing about my job is: Meeting customers and clients and finding innovative solutions which help them.

My biggest personal goal is: To climb all 283 Munros (mountains over 3000 feet in Scotland).

If I won the lottery I would: Celebrate the miracle of winning when I've never bought a ticket.

Owen Ferguson

Product Development Director

Owen Ferguson

A bit about me: I am Product Development Director at GoodPractice. I've been involved in Learning and Development in some shape or form for the past 10 years. Before that I was involved in sales so I know what it's like to work at the sharp end of the business!

The best thing about my job is: The people I work with and the sheer variety of the work we do.

My biggest personal goal is: I've found that life has tended to take me in directions that I hadn't anticipated - it's all so complex and random that I don't really have any 'big' goals - I just want to be happy, content and have interesting and challenging things to work on.

If I won the lottery I would: Depends how much it was. If it was 'only' a couple of million then I'd probably buy a house, go on holiday and then put some in a savings account and invest the rest in a balanced portfolio. Actually, even if it was £10 million I'd likely do the same but on bigger scale.

Paul Curry

Client Services Director

Paul Curry

A bit about me: I am the Client Services Director, with responsibility for ensuring that our clients receive a truly excellent service from GoodPractice. I have a fantastic team; with a wealth of industry experience, they have a real passion for delivering the highest levels of client satisfaction and their enthusiasm rubs off on our clients!

The best thing about my job is: Getting feedback from clients who have got real benefit from the GoodPractice resources.

My biggest personal goal is: Promote engagement with our resources so that our clients get the very best return on investment.

If I won the lottery I would: Have a big party, buy a box at Goodison Park and look after friends and family.

Ian Wheelans

Senior Client Services Account Manager

Ian Wheelans

A bit about me: As a Senior Client Services Account Manager my aim is to ensure my clients get the best use of the services we provide them. By building excellent relationships and delivering a first class service I hope to gain an understanding of my clients' needs and tailor their resources accordingly.

The best thing about my job is: Being exposed to different businesses and helping to make our toolkits work best for them.

My biggest personal goal is: To get a good night's sleep, as we have just had a little boy.

If I won the lottery I would: Never iron a work shirt again.

Louise Cameron

Senior Client Services Account Manager

Louise Cameron

A bit about me: My role as Senior Client Services Account Manager is to deliver excellent customer service to my clients and ensure that our resources are focused on the needs of our users. Previously I worked as a recruitment consultant specialising in the finance and IT sectors.

The best thing about my job is: The variety of people I speak with on a day-to-day basis.

My biggest personal goal is: To explore the world.

If I won the lottery I would: Explore the world!

Cecilia Westin

Senior Client Services Account Manager

Cecilia Westin

A bit about me: I’ve spent many years in various roles in the Learning & Development industry and support new and old clients in maximising the benefits and value gained from their investment in GoodPractice’s product portfolio. My aim is to make sure that all clients tap our resources to their full potential and mould them into solutions suitable for their unique requirements. I always strive to offer a close and personal client relationship with a firm focus on finding positive solutions to any new requirements and deliver excellent customer service at all times.

The best thing about my job is: With a core product portfolio, which is adaptable to each client’s requirements, no two solutions are ever the same allowing for an agile, innovative and ever changing environment, which works in tandem with our clients and their visions for the future.

My biggest personal goal is: Feeling proud of what I do knowing I have done it to the best of my ability – be it in the workplace or in my private life.

If I won the lottery I would: Buy myself a tiny bolt-hole on a windswept granite outcrop on the Swedish West Coast, a sea-kayak and a VW Campervan allowing me to take the family and all our ‘toys’ on tour exploring outdoor pursuits – be it up a mountain, on the water or down the slopes!

Jonathan Anderson

Application Architect

Jonathan Anderson

A bit about me: I am Application Architect at GoodPractice. I work hard to provide the world-class software we need to run our global brand. I dream up models that simulate the complexities of the GoodPractice business process and, through a continual, agile process, I hope to evolve the user experience closer to the ever-shifting, asymptotic target of optimality.

The best thing about my job is: The freedom to implement my own ideas and the responsibility this entails.

My biggest personal goal is: To understand more than I currently do.

If I won the lottery I would: Fully equip a laboratory and there build small, autonomous, robotic spiders. Spiders are an astonishing evolutionary product and to be able to get close to simulating their performance and properties would be very rewarding.

Kirsten Marrian

Technical Consultant

Kirsten Marrian

A bit about me: I am the Technical Consultant, responsible for creating innovative site solutions to contain the leadership and management content created by the editorial team. I have been known to dabble in a spot of computer programming, but strongly deny any geek leanings. Previously I worked for Standard Life in a variety of roles including Document Design and Training & Development, and I also have a wealth of experience in restaurant management.

The best thing about my job is: Variety. Each day brings a new challenge or experience.

My biggest personal goal is: To sail through the Antarctic whale watching, kayaking and ice diving.

If I won the lottery I would: Set up a wildlife sanctuary along a rugged stretch of the Scottish coast, offering glass bottomed boat trips and long lazy lunches in a cosy pub.

Lee Murphy

Editorial and Technical Consultant

Lee Murphy

A bit about me: I am an Editorial and Technical consultant which means I work within both the Editorial and the Technical teams in Product Development. I work to create client solutions and writing new content. Prior to joining GoodPractice in 2004, I held various roles in the information sector and am a chartered librarian by trade.

The best thing about my job is: The buzz from delivering bespoke web solutions to satisfied clients.

My biggest personal goal is: To set up my own business, which would enable me to move to Italy and spend summers cruising round the Mediterranean on my own yacht - pure bliss!

If I won the lottery I would: Buy lots of property all over the world and renovate a ramshackle cliff-top house I fell in love with in Sant-Agnello on the Amalfi Coast so that my friends and family could have free holidays whenever they like.

Catriona McCartney

Senior Editor

Catriona McCartney

A bit about me: I am Senior Editor in the Product Development team. My responsibilities include writing and editing content, as well as helping ensure everything we produce is tip top quality. I also do some marketing and PR work for GoodPractice. Prior to working here, I worked in advertising as a copywriter.

The best thing about my job is: The variety of the work, from writing to editing and doing audio and video interviews. Also, it's the great people that I work with.

My biggest personal goal is: To excavate my desk. Oh, and to swim the Corryvreckan without drowning.

If I won the lottery I would: Build an eco-home somewhere remote on the west coast of Scotland and write a book.

Stef Scott

Editor

Stef Scott

A bit about me: : I am part of the Product Development team at GoodPractice and am responsible for creating the content that goes into the toolkits. Before life here I worked in HR at the University of Edinburgh and worked my way up to HR Advisor level.

Exec Assistant to Senior Exec from Accenture within Bank of Scotland, Project and Platform Delivery team.

The best thing about my job is: Working with numbers, and the variety of my role.

My biggest personal goal is: To train everyone at GoodPractice to keep hold of their VAT receipts.

James McLuckie

Learning Engagement Manager for Eden Tree

James McLuckie

A bit about me: I am Learning Engagement Manager for Eden Tree, our resource aimed at the L&D, HR and OD communities. It's quite a broad role with a bit of content work, IT management, engaging with members, and marketing. I also manage our Learning and Development Group (LDG) LinkedIn space. Before coming to GoodPractice I worked for a large financial institution in their L&D department, and also spent a bit of time in the public sector.

The best thing about my job is: I spend every day learning about learning - a topic that I am fascinated by.

My biggest personal goal is: Make even the smallest dent in the wheelbarrow load of books I have had beside my bed for the past three years.

If I won the lottery I would: Spend every last penny of it.

Justin Anderson

Content Editor

Justin Anderson

A bit about me: As a Content Editor, I research, write and edit material for our range of products. I also get to conduct interviews recorded on video or audio and edit them for upload to our websites. My background is as a writer, editor and publisher in various media. I’ve been published in newspapers, magazines and guidebooks in the past, as well as being a director of a few small publishing companies. Outside of the office, I write scripts and finished my first novel in 2012.

The best thing about my job is: Working for a company that practices what it preaches. I’ve worked for a few terrible bosses in my time, so being treated with respect and appreciation is something I will never take for granted!

My biggest personal goal is: To have one of my books published and/or a script made for TV or film.

If I won the lottery I would: Probably buy a plot of land and build a funky eco-house for our 7-strong family, then put the rest in the bank and live off the interest.
