4. Harvard Business Review Blog (Android only)

What does it do? This app gives you access to Havard Business Review’s respected blog on your smartphone. A handy tool for catching up on the latest news and thinking from the leadership and management world.

5. WorldMate (BlackBerry only)

What does it do? This app allows you to plan, book, manage and share all the information relating to your business trips, helping you to stay organised while you’re moving from A to B. What does it do? Get the latest news and market data from the business and finance world straight to your phone with this app from Bloomberg.

7. Thomson Reuters News Pro (iPhone, Android and BlackBerry)

What does it do? This app gives you instant access to breaking news, pictures and videos from Reuters, as well as financial information and data.

8. Evernote (iPhone, Android and BlackBerry)

What does it do? Billed as an app that can turn your Smartphone into ‘an extension of your brain’, Evernote allows you to store notes, ideas, images and audio clips on your phone, and synchronise them to your PC or Mac desktop.

1o. Documents to Go (iPhone, Android and BlackBerry)

What does it do? Unlike many other document storage apps, Documents to Go allows you to create and edit Word, Excel and PowerPoint files, as well as view them. Although this makes it slightly more expensive than the average app, it means you don’t need to download separate editing software, or switch between your smartphone and PC or Mac to update your documents.
