The Learning Explosion – Nigel Paine

I’ve known Nigel for about ten years and love the clarity of his thinking on learning so I recently asked him to record a video for an ASTD UK event to set the scene on the future of learning.
This is what he came up with and it’s worth ten minutes of your time to watch Nigel place learning at the heart of the 21st century organisation, but only if it is focused on behaviours.
He argues, this will lead to an explosion of learning that will have a profound impact on productivity and organisational performance. I couldn’t agree more.

Thanks for introducing a little rationality into this debate.
Like the emphasis on learning and sharing as keys to enhancing productivity. Moving from a small business environment where sharing with the “competition” was a given feature of keeping self-interest from poisoning the common work-space to an organization that obsessively counts sharing as trade in obligations, it seems that what has been obvious to the small “independent” needs revealing to the larger players.
